Getting ready for Easter

I cut out three wooden eggs and painted them for Easter.
I don't have a pic of the other two because Sage is going to put the names on this afternoon.
She usually has Wednesdays off but today she works form 12 to 2.
I have bridge club at 1 and so she is going to be coming out to McKinney
around 4 and we will finish the other eggs.
Are you getting ready for Easter?

St. Patrick's Day Weekend

Rich and Debbie flew in from Omaha to spend the weekend with us.
They are always so much fun!
Thursday night we took them to Whiskey Cake in Plano and, of course,
Pat and Debbie split the Whiskey Cake for dessert.
Friday morning Debbie and I went shopping in downtown McKinney and we spotted this sign in a store window.  I'm going to have to make that some day.
She purchased a pair of Cowboy boots and I can't believe I did not take a picture of them.  Really cute!
We met the guys at 11:45 at "Sauce" for lunch.
After lunch Debbie and I made a stop at Hobby Lobby for a few crafts items and then home to start crafting.
Debbie re frosted this glass block and painted the Shamrock on it for me.
 I just love it.
Debbie brought me this lighted wine bottle.  She made it.  The label has Fitzgerald at the top, a picture of an Irish Pub and then at the bottom of the label is March 17, 2012 along with their name under the date.
What a great gift.

So we preceded to drink wine, wash out the bottles, drilled holes in them and decorated 4 bottles to give to our children as St. Patrick's Day gifts.  We had a family dinner party here on Sunday night with Corned Beef and Cabbage and they all were delighted with their wine bottles.
It was a great weekend!
Thanks Rich and Debbie for coming to see us.
We enjoyed every minute of it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ready for St. Patrick's Day

I entertained my "GAME NITE GALS" on February 29th with a Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner.
So I decorated a little early this year for the holiday.
I love this plate because I can erase the script and change the bow for the next holiday.

My front door Shamrock with the plague that says "Irish You a Happy St. Patrick's Day".
This is hanging in my dining room.  It is an old postcard front and back on a plaque.
My neighbor gave this to me last year for my birthday.
I have yet to get up to the little shop in Celina where she bought it.
Thank you once again Kim.
These four Irish gnomes are from Pat's collection.
Some day I will take a picture of them all to show you.
The one in front is called Monaghan, then left to right is Blarney, Danny and McCormick.
This is my centerpiece for the dining room table.
The "Peggy Carr" plate on the stand is from my friend Pam.
I moved it into the kitchen along with the little postcard on the silver tray.
This is my carpenters box that sits on my kitchen counter full of Shamrocks!
I love these shamrock doilies that I ordered from "Terry's Village" catalog.
I must have about 6 of them spread around the house.
Yesterday I went to the store and bought the Corned Beef so I am ready for St. Patrick's Day.
 Thanks for stopping by.

Saturday lunch with Deb plus antiques!

Deb Fitzgerald picked up Pat and I around 10:30 on Saturday morning and we drove to this "Gas Station".
There is a gourmet restaurant inside.
The Chef Point restaurant was featured on Dives, Diners, & Drive Ins on the Food Network.
I ordered the specialty duck appetizer and for lunch I had the Crab stuffed pork chop.  It was wonderful.
Pat and Deb order the Escargot for their appetizer and for their lunch they each order Cioppino.
"Bread pudding" is the specialty dessert and of course Deb and Pat ordered one to share.
I have given up desserts for Lent so not even a bite for me.

On the way home we stopped at an Antique Mall.
Pat wasn't very happy with us but I found some neat treasures.
When Deb and I went up to the counter to pay for our treasures
we found Pat sitting on a Church pew talking with a lady from Fremont, Ne.
 What a small world!!!!
A silver coffee pot!
A jar of antique beads!
The little shamrock shaped green cut glass dish!
Thanks Deb for a wonderful day!

And one last entry to this blog.  Look who showed up yesterday in the mail from Gus Collison.
He is our great nephew who lives in Carroll, Iowa.
Ella, Gus's big sister sent us Flat Stanley a couple of years ago and
we had so much fun. We are looking forward to having Stanley back with us again.
I just wish we could get Ella and Gus to come see us also.
Thanks for stopping by.
