Memorial Day

<

Doug, Anne and Josie came for Memorial Day Weekend.

They now live near Memphis.  

The trip was 7 hours and we appreciate them making the trip to see us.  

This is a picture of Tre', Josie and Anne. 

We had a beautiful weekend.  It would rain during the night and be beautiful during the day.

after breakfast on the patio watching the 5K run going through our neighborhood.

"Boot Scootin" is done!

My quilt top is finished.  Now I will send it to the quilter.

Next comes the border!

I am finally satisfied with this block.  

Pat's mom sent us a homemade note card that had these butterflies on the front.  

I used a few on my Crazy Quilt and was lucky that I did not use this one also.  

I like it on the boot.  Plus it is a remembrance of her.   

Now I am off to the fabric store to find the border print.

Dealing with an Eye Sore!

 Last week I took this picture for my blog and when 

I looked at it, the light blue and navy boot 3rd down on the left looked out of place.  

I decided to embroider our monograms and the date on it.  

 Close up of the embroidery.

This looks better to me but I still  may add some embroidery under the monograms. 

 I will have to look at it for this week.

Final "Boot Scootin" Blocks

I  finished  more blocks so now I will be putting them together. 

A friend from Phoenix gave me the pattern when she was visiting me in March.  

We went through all my fabric drawers and came up with an amazing array of boots. 

It was a great way to use up a lot of my scraps.
