Cross Stitch quilt

I am in the process of taking all my cross stitch samplers and putting them into a quilt.
I am going to back the each sampler with a light fusible
and then start doing the math to put the lattice work between each piece.
Wish me luck!!!!

Pears

A couple of weeks ago I went over to Steve and Tre's house to pick these beautiful pears from their tree.  All this week I have been canning them.

I made Pear Chutney - Use as a relish with lamb or ham or as an appetizer with cream cheese and crackers.

Then I made a batch of Pear Butter - It’s excellent spread on toast or biscuits. Dollops of it can be added to yogurt, cottage cheese or to hot cereals like oatmeal
I also canned 11 quarts of pears to use with Cottage Cheese or in jellos

I am thinking that a couple jars in a basket will  make some school teachers a great Christmas Gift!!!

Fitzgerald Dinner

We all went to Ange and Sage's house for dinner recently.

Ange made her famous Beer Can Chicken.  They were so plump, juicy and yummy!!!!

These pears are from Steve and Tre's backyard tree.
I have canned 11 quarts of pears and made 15 half pints of pear chutney.
I still have some pears on my kitchen counter and I am going to make pear jam.
Steve, Tre' and the boys left for Nebraska yesterday to visit Tre's side of the family.
They were looking forward to having a great time in Fremont.
We will see them back here in McKinney next week.

My Trip to Iowa

I arrived just in time for Abbie's piano recital.  She played two songs.
One from the piano book and the second one she composed herself.
Job well done Abbie!!!

Reese and I went shopping on Friday while her Mom and Dad were working.
She picked out this dress and leggings for her birthday.  She loved trying on clothes.
We went to lunch at the food court and then home to clean out the car.
She is a really good helper.
Dave and Angie had their house painted this spring.  Doesn't it look pretty.
Angie wants to paint the front door black.  They also got new outside lights.
Their next project is the deck off their back door.
I went to Carroll, IA on Sunday and met three of my nieces for Mexican Food.
Kegan on the right just got back from doing missionary work in Africa.
This is my sister Bonnie from Breda, IA and her granddaughter Ella Rose.
I just love her name.  She belongs to our Goddaughter Anne.  They live in Carroll, IA
This is Anne and myself.  We had a great time sipping our margaritas and dining on tacos.
Monday I headed back to Omaha to help Angie paint her pantry door with blackboard paint.
It turned out really well.  I am sorry I did not take a picture.  Tuesday we traveled back to Texas.

I HAVE BEEN BUSY!!!

I saw this flower pot sculpture in one of my blogs and
since I had a bunch of pots around I decided to make it.
It looks so nice in the back corner of our yard.

I found this flag made from 2 x 4's on one of my blog sites and decided to make it.
I loved it so much that I made 12 more for our June 12th Golf exchange.
They will be used for 2nd place prizes in all three flights.

I bought this Uncle Sam at a bazaar last year and decided to make a few up for my sisters.
I will give be giving them early Christmas Presents this year because
I am taking them to Iowa with me next week.

Reese's birthday present will also be going with me to Nebraska next Thursday.  I got a set of new clubs and a new bag for Mother's Day along with many other wonderful gifts.  I decided to cut a few of my old clubs down and have this US Kids Golf bag and a new little pink putter for her.  I sure hope she falls in love with golfing like her Dad, Uncle and Nana!!!
Happy Memorial Day to you all!

Saturday night we met Colin and Marcia at Ranchman's Cafe in Ponder, TX.
We had a great time but the food wasn't that great.
Oh I forgot about the Coconut Cream Pie!  It was delicious...

Sunday for Mother's day Steve and Tre' hosted our family for kabob's of sausage,
shrimp, onion, green peppers and mushrooms.  They were delicious.
Pat brought the appetizer and Mike brought the desert.
We had a great time and I received some wonderful gifts!
It was a great Mother's Day!

Love you guys!

Gone is McCormick & Schmick Restaurant

I had a free day from golfing on Tuesday and Pat decided to take me to North Park Shopping.
We decided on McCormick and Schmick for lunch.  It has a great bar area.
I love that the bar is oval and all the wood is so beautiful.

We split the Lobster Cobb Salad.  It was delicious!
When we paid the bill our delightful waitress informed us that the restaurant was closing it's doors
the next day.  I am so glad we decided to eat there since it has always been one of our favorites.                We will miss this great place.
Thanks for stopping by.
