Ready to Paint

I worked in the garage on Thursday after I got home from golfing.  I had all the fans going and it was still very hot out there but I have everything sanded and ready to paint.
The four turkey heads resting on the floor on the right will be painted to look like the signs below.

The ten turkeys on the left will be painted like this for the bazaar!
I also sanded some boards that will become Alphabet and Christmas signs. I have plans to make 5 of the Christmas signs below and two more of the Alphabet signs.
Here is what they will look like finished.
So you see I have my work cut out for me.  The good thing is I will be painting in the house and not in the garage where it is so HOT!  We are headed to Iowa at the end of the week in hopes of finding cooler weather.

More of our San Antonio Trip

Friday evening we went down to the River Walk in San Antonio.  Visited the Alamo.
More of the Alamo.  We all were getting hungry so we found a pizzeria and enjoyed beer and pizza.  We went back to the hotel and the kids all went swimming.   Mike and Theresa had wine in their room so guess where Pat and I camped out.
We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard at Sea World.  We are over looking the pool from Mike and Theresa's room on the 4th floor.  Beautiful pool.
The wedding was at 2 and the reception started at 6.  After the wedding we all went back to the hotel and took over the bar and lobby.  Here is Bride Betsy (Reese called her the Princess) with Jack and Sam.  She made a beautiful bride.
The bride wore cowboy boots!!!!  How cool is that????

Weekend in San Antonio

Dave, Angie and the girls arrived on Wednesday from Omaha.  At 6:00 on Friday morning we caravanned to San Antonio for Betsy and Joel wedding on Saturday afternoon.  We stopped at 7:30 Friday morning in West, TX for Kolaches and coffee at the Little Czech Bakery.
Next stop was in Lockhart,TX for lunch. We arrived at 11:00 and walked around the town square for a while and then we ate BBQ.  Lockhart, TX has been featured on the Food Network show of Dives, Diners and Drive Ins.  They are the famous for their BBQ.

A beautiful Court House stands in the center of the town square.
We had BBQ brisket at Smithy's.
Tomorrow I will tell you more about the wedding.
Thanks for stopping by!
