Ohio Star

This morning I had a hair appointment and then came home and packed away all the Easter Decorations. Last week I finished another quilt.  This Pattern is called "The Ohio Star". I am making a big dent in my blue fabric drawer.  I love this blue and yellow quilt.

I also added a little more detail to the golfing wreath that we are going to use as first prize for our Mini Member tournament on May 17th.  I have one done and need to make 7 more.  I think I will have to make one for my front door.  I added the flower garland and the red tees to give it more color.

More quilts & a wreath

This week I finished a couple more quilts.  This pattern is the Churn Dash.  Notice little Daisy in the picture right hand corner of the quilt.  I asked her to move so that I could lay out the quilt for the picture and she didn't budge!

This quilt pattern is called Turning 20. I call it my scrappy Turning 20's quilt.
I have made a big dent in my blue fabric drawer.  I think I can get one more blue quilt out it.
Now I have to get these quilts over to Julie for quilting.

I golfed three times last week and on one of the days I was asked to make something for the upcoming tournament on May 17th.  I made this wreath.  If the committee likes it I will be making 8 of them.

I am planning on getting some colored tees to glue around it.  It needs a little more color.

The Parties are Over!

Today Donna and Julie took me to Dallas to "Rise no. 1" (Souffles) for a birthday lunch.   It was a wonderful experience.   Enjoy the pictures.
We are sitting at an 18th century school desk.  For entertainment while you wait there are scrabble pieces on the tables.  Julies "Marshmellow soup" is sitting on the desk top that lifts up.  A very old piece.  The glasses filled with water are cut down wine bottles.  Our napkins were kitchen tea towels.  It was a great place.  I need to take Pat back there.  They have a Salmon Souffle that I think he might like to try.
We were surrounded by the aspen trees.  I would say we sat at the Chef's table because I looked right into the kitchen.  The table probably seats 12 although we were at one end and the other end was occupied by another couple.

Here is a picture of the kitchen where they bake all the souffles.   Sorry Julie I should have had you duck or at least look at the camera.

This was the wine bottle chandelier hanging over our table.  It was huge and very pretty.

Here is my Jambon & Gruyere Souffle.  It was delicious.  They were very hot so we had to wait a while for them to cool down.  Julie ended up turning hers over onto her plate.

Donna ordered the Truffle infused Mushroom souffle.  We each tasted all of the souffles.  Julie ordered the special of the day which was Crab Souffle.  The dessert special for the day was a Strawberry souffle.  It was so yummy and very light.
It was a great birthday week.

Birthday Party

Steve and Tre' hosted my birthday party Sunday night.  They served stuffed mushroom and a vegetable plate for appetizers.  Dinner was lasagna, salad brought by Mike and Theresa and garlic cheese bread.  Deb brought the birthday cake.  It was a Carrot Cake! My favorite.
Mike and Theresa gave me a Starbucks gift card.  We like to walk to Starbucks on the weekends and have a cup of coffee along with one of their many tasty items.  Steve and Tre' gave me a gift card to my favorite salon.  I will be making an appointment for a pedicure very soon.  Deb gave me a Belleek cream pitcher.
Here are my two favorite guys helping me blow out the candles.  That Carrot Cake was awesome.  Sam is 12 and Jack is 9.  We had a storm blow through at 4AM.  We got 1.5 inches of rain which we needed badly.  I won't be playing golf this morning so maybe Pat and I will take in a movie later.  Tonight we go to Bailey's for another birthday party.
